OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The warehousing of goods by warehousemen under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the warehousing of goods by warehousemen is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017.

2. The matter has been examined. Every warehouseman carrying on the warehousing of goods shall make an application in Form B to the Registrar of Firms within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the warehousing of goods is undertaken, and the Registrar of Firms shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
