OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The collection of solid waste by contractors for solid waste collection under the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1977, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the collection of solid waste by contractors for solid waste collection is to be regulated under the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1977.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor for solid waste collection carrying on the collection of solid waste shall make an application in Form B to the Town Vending Committee within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the collection of solid waste is undertaken, and the Town Vending Committee shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka.
