STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars,

Subject: The service of process by process servers under the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954 (Uttar Pradesh Act 24 of 1954), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the service of process by process servers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every process server carrying on the service of process shall make an application in Form G to the Taxing Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Registrar shall ensure that deposition is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Taxing Officer within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
