STANDING ORDER

To

All Auditors of Trusts,

Subject: The performance of rituals in a temple by archakas under the Odisha Hindu Religious Endowments Act, 1952, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Hindu Religious Endowments Act, 1952 (Odisha Act 2 of 1952), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the performance of rituals in a temple by archakas.

2. The matter has been examined. Every archaka carrying on the performance of rituals in a temple shall make an application in Form H to the Deputy Charity Commissioner within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Auditor of Trusts shall ensure that scheme is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Deputy Charity Commissioner within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Odisha.
