STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Transport Commissioners,

Subject: The imparting of instruction in driving by driving schools under the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957 (Karnataka Act 35 of 1957), the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the imparting of instruction in driving by driving schools.

2. The matter has been examined. Every driving school carrying on the imparting of instruction in driving shall make an application in Form 20 to the Licensing Authority within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Deputy Transport Commissioner shall ensure that register of vehicles is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka.
