STANDING ORDER

All Chiefs Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad,

Subject: The operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 (Uttar Pradesh Act 26 of 1947), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a ferry carrying on the operation of a ferry shall make an application in Form 6 to the Gram Sabha within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad shall ensure that tax receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Gram Sabha within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
