OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Himachal Pradesh Tenancy and Land Reforms Act, 1974, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh on the manner in which the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land is to be regulated under the Himachal Pradesh Tenancy and Land Reforms Act, 1974.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 7 to the Settlement Officer within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sinking of a well on Government land is undertaken, and the Settlement Officer shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh.
