OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a cinema by owners of a cinema under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the running of a cinema by owners of a cinema is to be regulated under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a cinema carrying on the running of a cinema shall make an application in Form VIII to the Government of Karnataka within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a cinema is undertaken, and the Government of Karnataka shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka.
