STANDING ORDER

To

All Station Fire Officers,

Subject: The safety of a school building by owners of a school building under the Gujarat State Disaster Management Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat State Disaster Management Act, 2003 (Gujarat Act 20 of 2003), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the safety of a school building by owners of a school building.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a school building carrying on the safety of a school building shall make an application in Form D to the District Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Station Fire Officer shall ensure that relief material is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat.
