OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The temporary care of a child by a fit person by fit persons under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the temporary care of a child by a fit person by fit persons is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002.

2. The matter has been examined. Every fit person carrying on the temporary care of a child by a fit person shall make an application in Form VI to the District Child Protection Unit within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the temporary care of a child by a fit person is undertaken, and the District Child Protection Unit shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
