STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885 (Bihar Act 8 of 1885), the Information Technology Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every allottee of surplus land carrying on the holding of allotted surplus land shall make an application in Form 12 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Bihar.
