STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Tahsildars,

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950 (Bihar Act 30 of 1950), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 1 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Bihar.
