OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The execution of defence works by contractors for defence works under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh on the manner in which the execution of defence works by contractors for defence works is to be regulated under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor for defence works carrying on the execution of defence works shall make an application in Form B to the Defence Estates Officer within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the execution of defence works is undertaken, and the Defence Estates Officer shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
