STANDING ORDER

To

All Sanitary Inspectors,

Subject: The development of land by developers under the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888 (Maharashtra Act 3 of 1888), the Urban Development Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the development of land by developers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every developer carrying on the development of land shall make an application in Form A to the Director of Municipal Administration within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Sanitary Inspector shall ensure that hoarding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Municipal Administration within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Maharashtra.
