STANDING ORDER

To

All Seed Inspectors,

Subject: The production of certified seed by seed producers under the Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act, 1959, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act, 1959 (Karnataka Act 11 of 1959), the Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the production of certified seed by seed producers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every seed producer carrying on the production of certified seed shall make an application in Form D to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Seed Inspector shall ensure that sample is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka.
