STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Inspectors,

Subject: The execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Kerala Act 13 of 1994), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor engaged by a Panchayat carrying on the execution of works for a Panchayat shall make an application in Form 1 to the Director of Panchayats within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Panchayat Inspector shall ensure that market is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Panchayats within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Kerala.
