STANDING ORDER

To

All Superintendents of the Copying Department,

Subject: The administration of oaths by oath commissioners under the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954 (Uttar Pradesh Act 24 of 1954), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the administration of oaths by oath commissioners.

2. The matter has been examined. Every oath commissioner carrying on the administration of oaths shall make an application in Form D to the Bar Council within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Superintendent of the Copying Department shall ensure that deposition is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Bar Council within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
