OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The operation of a water supply scheme by operators of a water supply scheme under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information Technology Department, Government of West Bengal on the manner in which the operation of a water supply scheme by operators of a water supply scheme is to be regulated under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a water supply scheme carrying on the operation of a water supply scheme shall make an application in Form B to the Ground Water Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the operation of a water supply scheme is undertaken, and the Ground Water Authority shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of West Bengal.
