STANDING ORDER
To
All Harbour Masters,
Subject: The operation of a vessel by owners of a vessel under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1995), the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a vessel by owners of a vessel.
2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a vessel carrying on the operation of a vessel shall make an application in Form 7 to the Inland Waterways Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. The Harbour Master shall ensure that log book is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Inland Waterways Authority within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
