STANDING ORDER

To

All Municipal Engineers,

Subject: The connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer by owners of a private drain under the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1976), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer by owners of a private drain.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a private drain carrying on the connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer shall make an application in Form F to the Corporation within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Municipal Engineer shall ensure that building plan is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Corporation within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat.
