OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors under the Karnataka Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation and Development) Act, 1966, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors is to be regulated under the Karnataka Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation and Development) Act, 1966.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contract farming sponsor carrying on the sponsoring of contract farming shall make an application in Form H to the Government of Karnataka within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sponsoring of contract farming is undertaken, and the Government of Karnataka shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka.
