OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The functioning of a trade union by trade unions under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the functioning of a trade union by trade unions is to be regulated under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962.
2. The matter has been examined. Every trade union carrying on the functioning of a trade union shall make an application in Form IV to the Chief Inspector of Factories within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the functioning of a trade union is undertaken, and the Chief Inspector of Factories shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka.
