STANDING ORDER

To

All Controllers of Explosives,

Subject: The holding of a public assembly by organisers of a public assembly under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 (Tamil Nadu Act 10 of 1937), the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of a public assembly by organisers of a public assembly.

2. The matter has been examined. Every organiser of a public assembly carrying on the holding of a public assembly shall make an application in Form VIII to the Licensing Authority within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Controller of Explosives shall ensure that weapon is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
