OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The manufacture of motor vehicles by manufacturers of motor vehicles under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the manufacture of motor vehicles by manufacturers of motor vehicles is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer of motor vehicles carrying on the manufacture of motor vehicles shall make an application in Form 30 to the Regional Transport Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the manufacture of motor vehicles is undertaken, and the Regional Transport Authority shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
