STANDING ORDER

To

All Controllers of Explosives,

Subject: The keeping of a sarai by keepers of a sarai under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999 (Maharashtra Act 30 of 1999), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a sarai by keepers of a sarai.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a sarai carrying on the keeping of a sarai shall make an application in Form VI to the State Government within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Controller of Explosives shall ensure that firearm is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
