STANDING ORDER

To

All Probation Officers,

Subject: The running of a children's home by operators of a children's home under the Andhra Pradesh Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1988, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1988 (Andhra Pradesh Act 10 of 1988), the Revenue Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a children's home by operators of a children's home.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a children's home carrying on the running of a children's home shall make an application in Form II to the District Magistrate within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Probation Officer shall ensure that complaint is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Magistrate within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
