OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The clearance of goods for import or export by customs house agents under the Maharashtra Industrial Development Act, 1962, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the clearance of goods for import or export by customs house agents is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Industrial Development Act, 1962.

2. The matter has been examined. Every customs house agent carrying on the clearance of goods for import or export shall make an application in Form ANF-5A to the Export Promotion Council within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the clearance of goods for import or export is undertaken, and the Export Promotion Council shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
