STANDING ORDER

To

All Chief Electrical Inspectors,

Subject: The generation of electricity by generating companies under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003 (Gujarat Act 24 of 2003), the Law Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the generation of electricity by generating companies.

2. The matter has been examined. Every generating company carrying on the generation of electricity shall make an application in Form I to the Grievance Redressal Forum within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Chief Electrical Inspector shall ensure that energy bill is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Grievance Redressal Forum within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Gujarat.
