STANDING ORDER

To

All Surveyors,

Subject: The repair of ships by ship repairers under the Maharashtra Maritime Board Act, 1996, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Maritime Board Act, 1996 (Maharashtra Act 10 of 1996), the Ports Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the repair of ships by ship repairers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every ship repairer carrying on the repair of ships shall make an application in Form 6 to the Conservator of the Port within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Surveyor shall ensure that crew list is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Conservator of the Port within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Maharashtra.
