STANDING ORDER

To

All Irrigation Inspectors,

Subject: The extraction of ground water by person drawing ground waters under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954 (Rajasthan Act 21 of 1954), the Water Resources Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the extraction of ground water by person drawing ground waters.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person drawing ground water carrying on the extraction of ground water shall make an application in Form B to the Canal Officer within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Irrigation Inspector shall ensure that water course is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Canal Officer within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Rajasthan.
