OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a hospital by hospitals under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the running of a hospital by hospitals is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949.

2. The matter has been examined. Every hospital carrying on the running of a hospital shall make an application in Form 20-B to the State Medical Council within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a hospital is undertaken, and the State Medical Council shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra.
