STANDING ORDER

To

All Executive Engineers,

Subject: Fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876 (West Bengal Act 3 of 1876), the Tourism Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fishery in a reservoir carrying on fishing in a reservoir shall make an application in Form B to the Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Executive Engineer shall ensure that dam is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of West Bengal.
