OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The receipt of wages in a covered establishment by employees under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Transport Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the receipt of wages in a covered establishment by employees is to be regulated under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employee carrying on the receipt of wages in a covered establishment shall make an application in Form 1 to the Welfare Board within ten days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the receipt of wages in a covered establishment is undertaken, and the Welfare Board shall dispose of it within ten days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Kerala.
