OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The sale of property by auction by auctioneers under the Kerala Stamp Act, 1959, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the sale of property by auction by auctioneers is to be regulated under the Kerala Stamp Act, 1959.

2. The matter has been examined. Every auctioneer carrying on the sale of property by auction shall make an application in Form C to the Inspector General of Registration within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sale of property by auction is undertaken, and the Inspector General of Registration shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Kerala.
