STANDING ORDER

All Assistants Director of Education,

Subject: The transport of school children by operators of a school bus under the Karnataka Education Act, 1995, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1995 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1995), the Education Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the transport of school children by operators of a school bus.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a school bus carrying on the transport of school children shall make an application in Form D to the Director of Education within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Assistant Director of Education shall ensure that question paper is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Education within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Education Department, Government of Karnataka.
