STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 (Odisha Act 16 of 1960), the Ports Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 12 to the Collector within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that holding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Collector within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Odisha.
