STANDING ORDER

All Block Development Officers,

Subject: The working of a brick kiln in a village by owners of a brick kiln in a village under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Kerala Act 13 of 1994), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a brick kiln in a village by owners of a brick kiln in a village.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a brick kiln in a village carrying on the working of a brick kiln in a village shall make an application in Form 1 to the Block Development Officer within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Block Development Officer shall ensure that assessment register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Block Development Officer within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Kerala.
