STANDING ORDER

To

All Superintending Archaeologists,

Subject: The operation of a houseboat by operators of a houseboat under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005 (Kerala Act 8 of 2005), the Ports Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a houseboat by operators of a houseboat.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a houseboat carrying on the operation of a houseboat shall make an application in Form V to the Competent Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Superintending Archaeologist shall ensure that site is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Competent Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Kerala.
