OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Bihar on the manner in which the holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land is to be regulated under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land carrying on the holding of land assessed to revenue shall make an application in Form 8 to the Settlement Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the holding of land assessed to revenue is undertaken, and the Settlement Officer shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Bihar.
