STANDING ORDER

To

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The taking of a mortgage of agricultural land by mortgagees of agricultural land under the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 12 of 1964), the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the taking of a mortgage of agricultural land by mortgagees of agricultural land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every mortgagee of agricultural land carrying on the taking of a mortgage of agricultural land shall make an application in Form 12 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that holding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka.
