STANDING ORDER

To

All District Child Protection Officers,

Subject: The employment of adolescents by employers of adolescents under the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1982), the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the employment of adolescents by employers of adolescents.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employer of adolescents carrying on the employment of adolescents shall make an application in Form III to the State Commission for Women within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The District Child Protection Officer shall ensure that register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Commission for Women within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka.
