STANDING ORDER

All Inspectors,

Subject: The running of a genetic counselling centre by genetic counselling centres under the Tamil Nadu Private Clinical Establishments (Regulation) Act, 1997, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Private Clinical Establishments (Regulation) Act, 1997 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1997), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a genetic counselling centre by genetic counselling centres.

2. The matter has been examined. Every genetic counselling centre carrying on the running of a genetic counselling centre shall make an application in Form 20-B to the Appropriate Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Inspector shall ensure that drug is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Appropriate Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
