STANDING ORDER
To
All Recruiting Officers,
Subject: The plying of a vehicle within a cantonment by owners of a vehicle within a cantonment under the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 (Maharashtra Act 22 of 1951), the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the plying of a vehicle within a cantonment by owners of a vehicle within a cantonment.
2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a vehicle within a cantonment carrying on the plying of a vehicle within a cantonment shall make an application in Form F to the Station Commander within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. The Recruiting Officer shall ensure that register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Station Commander within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra.
