STANDING ORDER

To

All Building Inspectors,

Subject: The running of a cinema by operators of a cinema within the municipal limits under the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994 (Kerala Act 20 of 1994), the Finance Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a cinema by operators of a cinema within the municipal limits.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a cinema within the municipal limits carrying on the running of a cinema shall make an application in Form E to the Standing Committee within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Building Inspector shall ensure that building is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Standing Committee within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Kerala.
