STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspectors of Motor Vehicles,

Subject: Service as a conductor by conductors of a stage carriage under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958 (Maharashtra Act 65 of 1958), the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to service as a conductor by conductors of a stage carriage.

2. The matter has been examined. Every conductor of a stage carriage carrying on service as a conductor shall make an application in Form 1 to the Licensing Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Inspector of Motor Vehicles shall ensure that motor vehicle is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra.
