OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir under the Maharashtra Groundwater (Development and Management) Act, 2009, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the General Administration Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Groundwater (Development and Management) Act, 2009.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fishery in a reservoir carrying on fishing in a reservoir shall make an application in Form A to the Government of Maharashtra within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which fishing in a reservoir is undertaken, and the Government of Maharashtra shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Maharashtra.
