STANDING ORDER

To

All Chief Electrical Inspectors,

Subject: The manufacture of electricity meters by meter manufacturers under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003 (Gujarat Act 24 of 2003), the Agriculture Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the manufacture of electricity meters by meter manufacturers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every meter manufacturer carrying on the manufacture of electricity meters shall make an application in Form VI to the Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. The Chief Electrical Inspector shall ensure that register of consumers is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Gujarat.
