STANDING ORDER
To
All Canal Officers,
Subject: The maintenance of a dam by owners of a dam under the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003 (Kerala Act 31 of 2003), the Information Technology Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the maintenance of a dam by owners of a dam.
2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a dam carrying on the maintenance of a dam shall make an application in Form C to the River Basin Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Canal Officer shall ensure that works is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the River Basin Authority within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Kerala.
