OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The maintenance of a dam by owners of a dam under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Labour Department, Government of Rajasthan on the manner in which the maintenance of a dam by owners of a dam is to be regulated under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a dam carrying on the maintenance of a dam shall make an application in Form D to the Canal Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the maintenance of a dam is undertaken, and the Canal Officer shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Rajasthan.
