STANDING ORDER

To

All Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of land by landholders under the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1961 (Tamil Nadu Act 58 of 1961), the Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land by landholders.

2. The matter has been examined. Every landholder carrying on the holding of land shall make an application in Form 14 to the Land Tribunal within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that mutation is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Land Tribunal within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
